Finish is black nitrate. Which has a harder surface and is much more scratch resistant then black oxide. Black nitrate is also more of a matte finish and has a surface that more closely resembles phosphate coatings.
These are NOT M-14 mag conversions. Our magazines are made from the ground up for vepr .308s. M-14 magazine and magazines built off M-14 mag stampings have thin unsupported feed lips. Our magazines have 50% thicker feed lips that are supported against the receiver.
Over all height of magazine is 5.7 inches from top of feedlips to bottom of take down button. When inserted into a standard vepr rifle magazine protrudes 4.6 inches from bottom of receiver.

Follower does not hold the bolt open with the last round.
Magazine is made to accept ammunition no longer then 2.81 inches (Nato spec. Max. is 2.75 .308 Win Max. is 2.80)
