M14 30 round magazine

  • Floor plate is made for easy removal to allow for cleaning. Center button is depressed and the floor plate is slid forward allowed to rise and then slid to the back to disengage from the body.

Many 30 round magazines for the M-14 have been made over the last 50+ years, few have been deemed reliable.

This new design not just a stretched 20 round but is made to be a true working 30 round magazine.

Corrugated stampings on the feed lips prevent deforming with the higher spring loads needed for 30 round magazine.

Front catch is reinforced with an additional layer to reinforce this critical location.

Magazine is curved after a short straight section to prevent low feeding.

Floor plate is removable without tools to allow easy cleaning.

Follower is laser cut to allow exaggerated bolt stop.

Rear contact point is fully CNC milled and conventionally spot welded rather than projection welded.

Magazine is 8.625 long and weighs 12 ounces empty.

Magazine finish is Black Nitride.

The finish is an industrial type application rather than a cosmetic finish. So the finish can and does have shading variations from one mag to another and texture differences are common.

    There is not a better magazine for this platform available. Sure the GI 20 rounders are great and CMI makes some nice ones, of which I have several.

    BUT, 30 rounds is where it’s at. The magazines themselves are not much heavier than the quality 20 round mags available everywhere else. Fully loaded and inserted into the rifle, the weight difference is noticeable, however, my full size M1A is still nicely balanced. It is not a deal breaker. Add an extra set on arm day if it’s a problem for you.

    Others have complained about the 30 round or 25 round mags being too long for prone position shooting. I don’t find these mags to be intrusive when prone. The slight curve might be the ticket there. Or get a longer bipod…

    What’s’ not to love? These magazines are stout. The finish is superb. Nothing but quality here and they look devilishly handsome in the rifle.

    Stop weighing your options and get set of these magazines! Thank me later!

    Finally had the chance to put this magazine thru the wringer yesterday, and it simply performed and performed. It’s built like a brick you-know-what - the design is truly innovative, the materials are all flawlessly fabricated, assembled, and deburred, and the nitrocarburized finish is flawless - and I can’t think of a better magazine for this platform. It rocks and locks solidly into place every time, feeds with authority - zero issues thru 600 rounds, I might add - doesn’t unnecessarily wear my rifle’s internals, and is aesthetically pleasing, to boot. Kudos to CSSpecs for an overengineered piece of rifle kit that adds a classy extra bit of SHTF reliability and durability to an already powerful platform. 5/5

    These mags feed better than 20rd. Mags that can cost up to twice as much. They’re easy to load too. I’m ordering more as soon as I can.

    Purchased recently for an M1-A in 6.5 Creedmoor.
    The magazine arrived promptly and was constructed as advertised.
    There is considerable attention to detail, the material is a thicker gauge steel than expected, and the welds are well done.
    The magazine has held up well and feeds more consistently than the 20 round USGI magazines for the rifle.
