Notice: As of April 2026 these magazines now have Black Oxide finish instead of Nitride.

Black oxide is smoother, but less corrosion resistant, wipe magazines with oil rag after use.

This was done to improve loading and feed performance with a wider selection of ammo.

20 round capacity for the MK II bolt action by savage. Also fits Lakefield Mark II rifles since they are basically the same.

Does NOT fit the Savage 62 64. If you think it might fit a rifle not listed above please ask BEFORE ordering.

 

These magazines are fully laser cut, and are welded instead of crimped together.

View holes at 3,5,10,15 and 20.

Magazine is Carbon steel with a black oxide finish, stainless steel follower.

Please note we suggest a break in process as shown in video below. Magazine feed will be slightly sticky the first couple uses.

 

 

Ammo selection:

 

Please note that some longer bullet profiles result in stiff loading and sluggish feeding as the added length causes binding in the magazine.

Here is a sample of bullets we have on hand. Both the ones indicated with the arrows did feed, however it is difficult to load to 20 rounds.

Some ammo will only work loaded to 10 or 15 rounds. If you use the correct loadings, the magazines load easily.

Interestly many bulk pack loadings cycle very well.

 

Rimfire magazines are restricted in many cases just like centerfire.

  1. Works fantastic after a break-in period 5 Star Review

    Took a little bit of time to break it in (follow the video instructions!) but once broken in it works fantastically.

    I loaded up 20 rounds (with some difficulty the first time, as expected) and worked it about 50 times with the provided tool until it loosened up.

    I left it loaded full for 24 hours, unloaded, re-loaded, then worked it with the tool some more. By this time it was working well without sticking.

    I repeated the process one more time the next day and now it works flawlessly.

    I'm very happy with this magazine and I'll definitely be picking up a couple more in the future!

    I couldn't find any mags for a Ranger 101.23 but these looked close. I had to grind the front edge of the mag a little bit and its still a little tight in the gun but now I can shoot 20 rounds at a time instead of just 1.

    Great magazine. They have tight tolerances, so do require a little break in (really just a little, 3 mags). Runs perfect.

    Very difficult to load. Maybe it needs to be broken in….without the handy loading tool I would have sent it back or tossed it. Hoping it gets easier with time….and maybe I got one that is a little off spec.

    Dave, this is a self inflicted problem. Not all .22lr ammo is the same. We have a notice in checkout to read the product description because it contains useful information. Obviously you didn't bother to do that. How about you try using different ammo? How about doing the break in process shown in the video?

    Will not stay latched to rifle and can not get ahold of anyone to ask ? Otherwise seems like a nice clip.

    So we have been having an occasional issue with loose magazines, it's not very common and we suspect it is a bad batch of magazine latch springs, it's likely a slight adjustment to the latch spring could correct the problem.

    feeds flawlessly, appears to be laser welded together rather than pressed like the OEM savage magazines. included loader is nice too and makes loading a breeze! will buy a few more in the future.

    The magazine functions well with no feeding or extraction issues. However, during the loading process you have to be a little careful and occasionally tap the magazine to get the ammo to seat in place. This seems to only occur as the magazine nears being full. Otherwise I’m happy with this product.

    After loading 15 rounds I have to tap the magazine to get the spring to push up and create tension, but other then that it runs fine
