These magazines make the Vepr a viable DMR!
I would rate these better than the factory magazines. They insert easier, more robust, higher capacity, and best of all they are available!
Here's my video on them!

I've been waiting for these for over a year, watching the forums closely as CSSPECS went through the build process. I bought three magazines, tested them, and just bought another two. I'll probably buy a few more.
All five of the magazines locked up smoothly and tightly, cycled perfectly, and dropped out consistently when I pushed the release lever. The build quality is outstanding and looks great on my rifle. I have an earlier VEPR with the angle cut bolt, and reliability is perfect in every magazine.
I also also changed the rear sight to a peep site, and with the addition of the CSSPECS magazines and the peep sight, my VEPR is now a highly accurate, serious hunting and battle rifle capable of any task. These magazines have truly changed the rifle from a sort of curiosity to a major piece in my collection.
Finally, I have two of the "other" 10 round plastic magazines, and I would tell anybody not to waste their money on them. They seem cheap and flimsy compared to the original 5 round factory, and just plain bad compared to the really excellent CSSPECS 10 rounder.
Thanks CSSPECS, and I can't wait for the 15-ers!

Miles ahead of the plastic ones I had. I've been waiting on a metal one. I'm hoping the price comes down some. I'd like to buy more. My 7.62x54r VEPR is now as reliable as anything else I own.

Just tested my mags today, with a variety of ammo including some 203gr rounds. All worked fine, no issues!! I too had to perform the simple bolt mod, but no biggie. It actually helped the performance of some picky 10-rnd 'competitor-brand' mags!! Buy them with confidence, they work! Very solidly manufactured, quite heavy, well made: a great product!

These are excellent quality. I have a 2015 rifle and had to modify my bolt, which is extremely simple. Don't let this simple mod hold you back from purchasing these magazines. My magazine fit out of the box but it was a bit "snug" and difficult to get in easily, so I spent about 10 minutes filing a little here and there until it goes in much easier but is still solid and tight fitting. Best x54r magazines available, I'd buy more right now but ill hold off for the 15rd mags.

Bought one to try before I ordered more. Functions flawlessly and no modification required. However I did modify my late style bolt as in the notice.
I will be buying more!!

Was rather simple to modify the dish cut to a chamfer using a simple hand file, some measurements based on the photographs provided and some clearancing cycling ammunition through the gun before firing. I don't think it will affect resale value on account of these mags being the *only* steel mags on the market and solid qualify. Some filing and fitting needed for 2 of the 4 magazines I ordered as well, but not a big deal, just file and fit until snug. Also do yourself a favor and wear the follower in a bit so you can get a solid reliable feed, they *need* breaking in but once the wear pattern is set, they flow like a river and feed reliably. I would also suggest using steel-cased ammunition for the break in, brass seemed a little soft and in the grippy magazines wants to stick more than steel. In the end, bolt modification and wear in is very minor work for magazines that are rock solid

That said, these are still very high quality mags and look great. I should not have given a 3 star review, let's just say these are 5 star products that come with a 3 star modification to your rifle if it is a late model. But oh well, these rock, and their in the process of making 15s. I'm going for it.
Sorry for the multiple reviews, wanted to clear that up.

After a year of waiting - this has completed my rifle and made it worth every dime I have put into it - highly recommend as the first mod you ever do for this gun!

Turns out if your VEPR was manufactured after Nov '14 you will have to file off a section of your bolt to modify it to be "chamfer cut" or these will not work correctly in your rifle. So be prepared for that. Dammit, time to file my bolt, bye bye full resale value...
