20 round capacity for the MK II bolt action by savage. Also fits Lakefield Mark II rifles since they are basically the same.

Does NOT fit the Savage 62 64. If you think it might fit a rifle not listed above please ask BEFORE ordering.

These magazines are fully laser cut, and are welded instead of crimped together.

View holes at 3,5,10,15 and 20.

Magazine is Carbon steel with a molten salt nitride finish, stainless steel follower.

Please note we suggest a break in process as shown in video below. Magazine feed will be slightly sticky the first couple uses.

Ammo selection:

Please note that some longer bullet profiles result in stiff loading and sluggish feeding as the added length causes binding in the magazine.

Here is a sample of bullets we have on hand. Both the ones indicated with the arrows did feed, however it is difficult to load to 20 rounds.

Some ammo will only work loaded to 10 or 15 rounds. If you use the correct loadings, the magazines load easily.

Interestly many bulk pack loadings cycle very well.

Rimfire magazines are restricted in many cases just like centerfire.

  1. Solid 4 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Sep 2020

Received my 20rnd magazines faster than Amazon has been shipping lately! The magazines are solid. The springs are strong, and the feeder seems tough enough to last a long time. I plan on running these through some .22cal competitions. The only change I would suggest is rounded edges near the base where you hold then to load and unload. They aren’t “sharp” but in a rapid mag change are a bit aggressive on the hand. I plan on suggesting these to my buddy for his Savage.

  2. Another Amended Review 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Sep 2020

I received my little loading tools today and that makes a world of difference! It's too bad I was blind to see on the site that the loading gizmo was in the packing slip before I threw it away. Easy to load now.

  3. Good mag for the money 4 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Sep 2020

I was skeptical at first using a non factory mag in my rifle, but as far as feeding rounds and inserting the mag into the rifle everything is perfect. Loading is really a pain, but stick with it and it should work itself out. I'm probably 200 rounds through it now and I am able to load twenty by hand. Not easily like the factory mags but I at least no longer need the loading tool to top it off. I hope that by 400 rounds they break in and only get easier to load. 4 stars as maybe a slick or more finished inside would alleviate the difficult loading. Overall I will buy another if after 400 rounds this one becomes easier to load to full capacity.

  4. Amended Review 5 Star Review

Posted by on 6th Sep 2020

Well, is my face red. I was contacted by a CSS rep who told me that they had been including the loading gizmo for months and that it was tucked away in the packing slip. Being a man and loathe to open and read anything, I took out the mags and threw everything else away. I've asked CSS if they can send me a new one and I suspect they will. Any company that is reading and responding to reviews on a Sunday is showing great customer interest IMO.

  5. Definitely a quality build but.... 4 Star Review

Posted by on 6th Sep 2020

.....you better not be in a hurry to load them. They worked and fed perfectly in my Savage M2 FVSR but the loading is really tough. I wound up using a length of dowel rod to shove the rounds down as I loaded them. I did the break in as outlined on the web site. I think I saw on the site that they have some sort of little gizmo they charge 20 cents for to assist in the loading. If the thing is that cheap, one should be included with every mag.

Csspecs: It was included with the magazine, the loading tool is in the packing slip.

  6. great quality but still hates feeding first 2 rounds even after break-in 4 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Aug 2020

I followed the suggested break in tutorial, using the loading tool to shift the cartridges up and down while fully loaded. Bought 2 magazines and have done this for probably an hour each, while also taking the rifle out to multiple shooting sessions and doing it for a few minutes each time I load a magazine as well. One is a bit sticker than the other, but both hate feeding the second and third rounds.

The build quality does seem good. The magazines are stiff, and the springs seem strong. I am happy with that, but the initial feeding is still kind of a pain, especially when dealing with new shooters. I am hoping that they will eventually break in well enough to feed all 20 rounds properly. If not, they seem like great 17 round mags lol

Using 40gr copper plated round nose Fiocchi .22LR
Also have 40gr copper plated round nose Remington on the way to try.

  7. Lightning Fast Shipping 4 Star Review

  8. Great addition 4 Star Review

Works great. Harder to load than the stock mag. But still worth the money.

  9. Great Quality Magazine 5 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Aug 2020

Follow the break in guidelines of the video and you have a great working magazine. The magazines I bought from Csspecs work a lot better than the magazine that came with the rifle, I gave the factory magazine the same break in treatment that is recommended for the Csspecs ones but it still doesn't feed as well as the larger capacity ones.

  10. Doesnt extract 3 Star Review

Posted by on 31st Jul 2020

I really don't want to do a review of this magazine cuz I feel there's something I may be missing after you set and you tinker with it moving it up and down the magazine will feed with certain ammo however the extractors are not catching on the ends of the rounds so every time you load around you have to push a rod down the end of the barrel to extract shell I don't know what's going on Any input would be greatly appreciated as that is the only problem that I have with it and I will be more than happy to do a actual review if I can get a solution to that problem I would greatly greatly rate at more stars as I have been looking for more than a 10-round for this gun for 3 years I would like to also know the exact date that this magazine formerly came out for sale

Csspecs: Sounds like your extractors are missing or are damaged or are otherwise not working. I'd be happy to help you solve this since it does not sound like a magazine issue. I don't have any way of contacting you since there is no identifying information on this review. Please contact us.
