20 round capacity for the MK II bolt action by savage. Also fits Lakefield Mark II rifles since they are basically the same.
Does NOT fit the Savage 62 64. If you think it might fit a rifle not listed above please ask BEFORE ordering.
These magazines are fully laser cut, and are welded instead of crimped together.
View holes at 3,5,10,15 and 20.
Magazine is Carbon steel with a molten salt nitride finish, stainless steel follower.
Please note we suggest a break in process as shown in video below. Magazine feed will be slightly sticky the first couple uses.
Ammo selection:
Please note that some longer bullet profiles result in stiff loading and sluggish feeding as the added length causes binding in the magazine.
Here is a sample of bullets we have on hand. Both the ones indicated with the arrows did feed, however it is difficult to load to 20 rounds.
Some ammo will only work loaded to 10 or 15 rounds. If you use the correct loadings, the magazines load easily.
Interestly many bulk pack loadings cycle very well.
Rimfire magazines are restricted in many cases just like centerfire.

durable finish and lock in place just fine. Springs are stiff trying to get all twenty rounds it but I'm sure it'll get easier with time.

I followed the video for breaking in the 20 round magazine and I haven't had any issues with it. I've decided to purchase another. So far this magazine has worked well.

The mags didn’t lock into place unless you wiggle them back and forth and side to side. Quality was awesome.
Csspecs:
Could be something up with the magazine catch. The magazine catch is a strip of spring steel and they do eventually fatigue and stop holding as tightly.

Works well, really like the little loading tool that came with it. My local gunsmith thought was pretty cool too.

I ordered seven 20rd magazines so I could fire off lots of rounds at the range before having to reload. I can only use one hand and it takes a long time for me to load a magazine.
At first I had a heck of time loading my magazine, even after breaking it in by moving the bullets up and down hundreds of times. To fix the problem I mixed about 5ml of dry graphite with 60ml of solvent (white gas). I also added about 3ml of gun oil and 3ml of grease to help the graphite stick and stay. I put the magazine and the fully dissolved solvent mix into a jar, sealed the lid and gently rolled/tipped the jar back and forth to fully coat the inside of the magazine. I removed the mag and wiped off the outside with a dry cloth. Boy does it load 20 rds nicely now.
Feeding one handed can be difficult and I had to jiggle some rounds to get them to feed into the flared feed slot. Using a small one side oval riffler (file) I gently rounded the inside edges of the slot. The rounds now load perfectly.

Ideal for prairie dogs, squirrels, etc. Fits perfectly.

Great product and quality, but when I push forward on the bottom of the mag it disengages the mag release. From closer examination it might come from where the mag begins to curve. I had to bend the mag latch out more and take a bit of material from right under where the latch seats. Mind you where the mag is notched is perfect, it how deep the notch goes was the problem. I understand we’re talking about a Savage rimfire, it’s not a high end firearm and I’m very satisfied with the mag. I wish they’d do a 25 or 30 rounder and make a clasp for em to lock together, even if was a limited run thing. I’d buy it and it would make me consider buying another Savage rimfire.

Tough to get 20 in but the loading tool helped. Should free up after a few times. I'm happy with them.
