  1. High Quality Mags You Won't Regret 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Mar 2015

These are very high quality mags that function just like a mag should. Much beefier and sturdier than the more expensive factory mags. Mag dumps are a blast!

There was a considerable amount of filing/grinding that was necessary for my Vepr-12 but they now fit nice and tight. I started out with a file but after a while I decided that the file was too slow. I used a bench grinder to speed up the process. Honestly, I could probably file them a little more to make the lockup slightly easier but for now they work as designed.

  2. Nice 5 Star Review

Was to cautious with file at first, then just filed, it works great now. time to order another one.

  3. Great Mags 5 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Mar 2015

Had to due some considerable filing, but once the first one was done, I wasn't so shy with the files, so the process went faster. Just keep checking the clearance against the ejector block. Mine was a bit less then 1/16" from the lower edge of the ejector block when finished. Once the latch barely was able to engage, I began filing the undercut with a blind-sided file. Unfortunately, it was dull, so that took more time than it should have. Great end result, and very happy to have such nice mags. I'm embarrassed to put the SGMs in it now...

  4. Awesome Mags 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Feb 2015

I purchased 2. One of them took quite a bit of filing to get fitted correctly, the other took very little. I'd say about an hour total to get them both filed and polished to my very picky standards.
By far the best mags I have found for the VEPR!!!

  5. Just What I Expected 4 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Feb 2015

I purchased mine from I assume the initial batch or two from last Fall (14). I had to file them down considerably to obtain that confident fit (laborious endeavor relatively speaking so YMMV). That said, I much rather have a mag whereby there's too much rather than too little excess material.

I used the OEM Factory mags as an example which helped out to gauge the filing. Suffice it to say that the end product after the aforementioned process is PERFECT and IMO just feels better than the plymer factory mags (I guess this is not just relative to the mag-fed shotguns but AR's etc.). Csspec mags feed/perform flawlessly to be sure and IMO are a very good value in economic times whereby not many can afford to gamble their cash...Oh, the 4 stars are simply a 1 star subtraction due to my 'laziness...'

  6. Perfect 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Feb 2015

After filing the mags, they worked awesome. I did a poor job filing the first as i took too much off as i stopped paying attention and also made the file job un-even, yet the thing worked perfect, i was amazed. My only regret was that I did not know about these before i wasted my money on some SGM mags. The SGM mags routinely fouled a minimum of two times per 25 rounds, where the csspecs I have not had a single issue yet. extremely happy. thank you

  7. Extremely high quality and great customer service 5 Star Review

Posted by on 7th Feb 2015

Extremely high quality: I am a mechanical engineer and can attest that these mags are well designed and manufactured. I have used them out in the rain and simply wiped them down hours later when I got home, and they show no rust. They function perfectly. I have not had and failure to feeds, jams, or failure to activate the last round hold back which were not certainly due to the low brass bird shot I was using (same experience I've had with factory Russian and SGM tactical mags, and that is just a VEPR 12 thing). High velocity bird shot has given me no issues whatsoever (even when extremely limp wristing one handed).

Fit: I bought two and they fit perfectly (as per thorough instructional video on fitment). I did not have to remove any material for them to fit well. I almost decided to do some filing, but that was because out of the box the fit was a quite tight and borderline requiring excessive force to lock in. Instead I decided to see if they would wear in. So far I have used them a hand full of times and can now say that they definitely don't require excessive force to insert and lock in place. However, they are still a harder to lock in than I would prefer, but I expect them to wear in after more use and fit/insert perfectly to my liking. If the mags you get will fit properly as described in the fitment video and a firm slap on the bottom locks it in, then I highly suggest seeing if they will wear in to your liking before removing material (analogy: a good set of boots need to get worn in).

Customer service: Mike Foeller responded promptly and thoroughly to my inquiry, and alleviated my concerns.

I will be ordering more as soon as I can afford it. And I would love to see Csspecs offer more mags with other capacities: 5, 10, 12 box mags, and drum mags (the more rounds the merry)

  8. great mags 4 Star Review

they work flawless once you do some filling to make it latch good and easy. Other then that there great.

  9. Vepr 12 8 Round mag. 4 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Jan 2015

I will agree with the other reviews stating that the product is high quality. It is well built and that much is obvious the first few seconds its in your hands.
If I have a gripe, the only thing keeping me from rating it 5 starts is that the edges of the magazines are fairly sharp. I have not cut myself on it, but some rounding of the hard edges might go a long way towards getting rid of the only real defect these magazines seem to have.
    Aside form that, very pleased.
